Statement

I usually paint and draw faces in an abstract way using charcoal and chalk on paper.
I chose this manner of expression because I believe Drawing is the poetry of painting and it represents the fundamental conflict; black and white, the empty space and the complete, to move and to stop.
All of them are perpetually interweaved in the painting seekingcompletion.

This way of revealing the opposites through procedures of conflict or harmony confirms the historic times of human passions through anonymity itself.
This means that the anonymous human face has a key role in my drawings.
However the person and her passions are nothing but a part of the whole, which doesn’ t seek to bring out the soul-searching or other psychological implications.

Real life is what this portraits are about.

The mean itself, the humble charcoal on paper, gives a finite dimension in the ... idea of values, an historical approach in things that seem timeless.
The figures are like dissolving in the paper just as conditions of every histroric period are.
However, this distortion keeps the grandeur of something beyond time.

So, this figures diffused by pensil and eraser resemble of statues, cerated busts, which are naked from the sacrilegious marks of the present, with the historical sperm of timeless and the definite grimace from the burden of the passions that the future brings.
